A heartfelt thank you to Marilyn Childress and the Veterans Heritage Site Foundation for hosting a beautiful Gold Star Mothers and Family Day Ceremony honoring our Gold Star Families and remembering our fallen heroes.
The ceremony was held at the historic Ramsey House in Knoxville, TN on September 27, 2026 and the weather could not have been more perfect! Special thanks to Lori Tucker of WATE 6 On Your Side for serving as emcee. We enjoyed wonderful music from the Military Voices of East Tennessee, inspiring guest speakers, and beautiful bagpipe performances of “Flowers of the Forest” and “Amazing Grace” by Kelly Ann Shipe. The Karns JROTC did an outstanding job presenting the colors.
After the ceremony, families and guests enjoyed fellowship, conversation, and cake. Gold Star families were also presented with thoughtful gifts from the James White Chapter of the Children of the American Revolution. Kelly Swanson, President of the Volunteer Chapter, was honored to represent the chapter at this special event.
