American Gold Star Mothers 88th National Convention

The Volunteer Chapter of Tennessee attended the 88th National Convention of the American Gold Star Mothers, Inc. Kelly Swanson and Sherrie McGhee represented the Volunteer Chapter, along with Tammy Bass and Jenny Newsom, who represented the Middle Tennessee Chapter. It was a busy, but very productive week, starting with assembling 700 dorm drop bags, as a welcome home gift for Airman stationed at the Seymour Johnson AFB in Goldsboro, NC, to our business meeting, followed by a wonderful banquet, and ending with the elections of our new 2025-2026 National Executive Board. Sherrie will once again be serving as the National Chaplain. We are very proud that all three Chapters in Tennessee received awards for their volunteer hours and mileage, and donations. We hope to see everyone at the next year’s convention, to be held in Tampa, Florida.
